take a warm/damp terry cloth and slowly wipe it off...I dont think its FULL blown nest box eye...just some cruties...and you and also put A VERY LIGHT COAT OF NEOSPORIN over it VERY LIGHT
I just use a wet cotton swab to dab, moisten and gently clean the area. I've not used ointment and haven't had a problem. I found another topic on RT that suggested "You are correct, you should NOT use just Neosporin or Triple ABX in the eye. It needs to be "opthalmic" ointment (made for the eye)" nest-box-eye-t2845.html
You are correct...thats why I said only alittle and jus ton the lid....as a LAST resort....but usually once you wipe it with the warm water you should be fine
Every once in a while I will get that with young (ish) rabbits. It always worries me- I can't help but think of the dreaded "P"- but it has never progressed to snotty noses.
One of these days I will swab it and send it off to UCDavis for testing to see what I am dealing with.
I'm glad it seems to have resolved. He looks like quite the little chunkster.
This has happened occasionally with my Astrex babies. I believe the lack of eyelashes makes it easier for bedding particles to get in their eyes. Some warm water with a clean cloth and a drop of polysporin eye drops in each eye clears it right up.
