It's a clear sunny 16F here in Indiana this morning ... HOLY COW! So in preparation for this arctic blast, I strategically placed three heat lamps for the overnight. I am happy to report no frozen water bottles, and it's a balmy 34F inside the barn. SWEET!! HAPPY DANCE! :cheer1:

Congrats! :) 16F?! Man! Is this winter is starting out nasty or what?!

We were 9 degrees above this morning. Amazingly the barn was still at 29 degrees. Only the lower tier of cages had any issue with ice. We had a raging High of 23 and are back to 14 ...
Seems that , inspite of what the weatherman says.... winter is barreling in ahead of schedule....whining will now commence......

My kids are watching the weather in Texas with great interest... and they have high hopes for snow this winter! :p

I have promised them that if I EVER see snow, even in the middle of the night, I will get them up. You can't afford to miss a snowfall around here... there might not be another one for 10 years.

It snowed in Dallas in the 2010/2011 winter. I have pictures. We were visiting my Mom there and it snowed maybe an inch. My eldest went nuts playing in it. But you're right it was gone the next day.

It's not even Thanksgiving and we already have the snowplows out.

Alert me to any appropriate homes for sale, Miss M. I want your climate!

We have 3ft of snow on the ground.

Winter started 2 months ago.

Actually,,winter is RACING by. Usually by now we have -20. But it's around 0 outside (well its warm & that's my guess). So if anyone wants snow.... I've got plenty :D just tell me your address :D

Snow in Texas - gotta love it. We go all out too because you never know when or if you will see it again. You see people trying to cram every "winter activity" ever invented into like that 8 hour window before it's gone. Safety third folks - there is plenty of time to sit in the ER AFTER it all melts!

Safety is just a theory in TX. I believe these people are the ones who coined the expressions "hold my beer" and "hey watch this". Or at least gave them their infamy.

Oh wow! I have decided that I am as far north as I ever want to be :)

I agree, I usually wait till after the holidays. January 2nd I am tapping my foot for spring ;)

Oh, come on. You could be up here with me! it was 4 degrees at 9am. Good ol Northern Wisconsin weather. On the bright side, it's a blustery 55 degrees in the garage. Them lucky rabbits...

We got half our usual snowfall for the entire winter this month, with more expected tomorrow along with an expected temperature of -17c, about 1F.
Only three more months to go

I'm happy it's been above freezing for two days now. The crocks will thaw out. But I lost the hose and the faucet in the overnight quick freeze and snow storm.

Holy crud

Well at least you practiced flood control over the summer in preparation for the spring thaw :happy2:

We have had a lot of lower temps than normal. I been fighting the water
dishes daily. This coming week, looks like better temps, thank goodness.
No such thing as a normal winter in NY.

So far it has been a roller coaster here, cold for a few days, tornados the next! Then cold again for a couple days, and now it looks like warm and rainy for about three days! What a ride! LOL
