They would be drawn in even during the day? I would take one being uncomfortable as opposed to them dying any time.....

Sorry, I didn't finish that thought. Set it up during the day so it makes a ton of noise. Then sit over it that afternoon, evening and into the early night. They may come out during the day, they may not. I literally shot a fox yesterday at 3 in the afternoon. Other times they wait until just at dusk.
I'd say more often than not they wait until just right before sundown/right after sun up to be active.

Seems ours was most active after 10 pm.
That's the last times I checked the chickens and they were all still living. Couldn't have been too long after that tho because by 7 am bodies were cold and very stiff....ok-I'll do that. Sounds like a plan!
