Born 07-31-13 Jose (buck) - Babycakes (doe)

My previous largest litter was 5. I told Babycakes the night before that I wanted her to have 6. That I wanted them all brokens. The best looking was to be a buck and the rest were to be does. Well she got the 6 right at least. I need a broken buck to hold out so that I can get a charlie and breed only brokens. The brokens sell really fast. I'm guessing in this litter I have 3 brokens, 1 chestnut (uggggh) and 2 REW. I know the brokens will sell fast. I like chestnuts but they are almost always the last to go. My 2 previous REWs I kept so I am curious to see if these will sell. Has anyone sold REW Lionheads and how well did they sell?

Here are the pictures, parents can be viewed on my website

Congrats!
I rarely see people up here wanting anything with red eyes...They either scare the kids or the parents...

In our last 2 litters our REW were the 1st to sell. I had someone some and buy all 3 from 1 litter, and in the 2nd litter someone came and bought the 2 that we had.
Congratulations on the popples!

General consensus around here seems to be red eyes = creepy, even in our household. I've grown to love how the REW lionheads look. I'm not too fond of larger breed REWs. If these 2 REW are hard to sell I may have to rethink breeding my other REW lionheads.

Congrats! You've still got a ways to go to beat my lh birth record, though ;) My Hannah delivered 9 as largest litter delivered. Eight is my largest LH litter raised to weaning. Large litters like that means your doe is a false dwarf.

Wow talk about a productive doe lol. How much does Hannah weigh? 8 would definitely go a ways towards covering my costs and maybe even making a little money. Emphasis on little hehe.

Hannah was just over 4lbs. I don't have her anymore, because I actually really dislike the large litters, it generally makes me feel a bit overwhelmed. Hannah's doing agility now, to help keep her trim(she packed on the weight easily).

Here is an updated picture, they are 9 days old. I'm hoping the large broken black is a male as I will keep him.

Babette is a cutie ! We had one of the bunnies escape the cage tonight through the roof. I have these 3 tier racks that hold 28" x 28" cages that are made from NIC panels. I have a baby barrier around the sides of the cage as we lost a kit before. In this cage there is also this ridiculous litter box made from 1" thick boards. Originally it was supposed to be a nestbox but the doe opted to poo in it. She seemed to like using it so we kept it in the cage. Tonight one of the babies climbed on the rim of the litter box then stood up enough to reach the top of the cage. Then he/she pulled themselves up and on top of the cage. My son watched the rabbit do it or I wouldn't have believed it. We solved that problem by putting something on the top of the cage. The 2-3 week stage is the worst as they can fit through the cage a little and are very adventurous. We have been doing bunny count like in a prison now lol.
