Hey guys! Im new to the rabbit breeding world. Just having some trouble figuring out this colour! Both babies look like this.
Mum was bought as a lilac but she is brown and lilac all year round so shes maybe a siamese smoke pearl?? which is like the babies. Dad is a choc tort. They are mini lops. Have put both babies and mum in photos.
Thankyou :)

Unfortunately telling the subtle differences in some colours is difficult to do with photographs. I don't work with either colour so I am not very familiar with then, hopefully another member will pipe in :)

Siamese sable is the term used for the black version of a shaded self black and it can also come in chocolate sable, blue sable ( AKA smoke pearl) and lilac sable and this might be the colour of your doe.

Also, if you breed a chocolate to a lilac you will never produce blacks or blue but only more chocolates or lilacs.

I think they look like gold tipped lilac steel. Is that ear lacing I'm seeing ear lacing in the one picture? The tips on a lilac steel would look...lynxy

I looked up lilac tort in lops, I was only familiar with the color in rex and angoras...oddly, it looks totally different on mini lops!

I think your kits look a lot like the lilac torts I'm seeing online. I usually identify torts in the nestbox, where their darker ears tend to give them away..

Mom doesn't look like a smoke pearl.

Siamese sables are shaded, dark sepia on the ears, mussle, feet tail and some on the sides, fading to a lighter color on the body. A smoke pearl would have the same shaded gradient, except the sepia would be blue and the body would be pale gray. She's too dark with no color gradients. She actually looks closer to lynx.

Check out these colors. http://www.rebeccasrabbitry.com/minilopcolorguide.html

The other does look like my blue torts in hollands, but the color is hard to tell on the screen.
