Yes, ringworm is contagious. You can get, your other pets can get it... but it is easy to treat, so is not a big deal.

Blu-kote is good for fungus.

the bump is shaped like this:

how do I wrap it?

__________ Sun May 05, 2013 5:24 pm __________

I wrapped his leg, but it fell off, any good ways to wrap a rabbit? (I dont mean :dinner: )

I don't think there is a good way to wrap it, LB. :(

Did you get the Blu-kote or Vetericyn?

I think the best you can do is try to keep the cage as clean as possible, and spray the wound with medicine a couple of times a day.

I got the blu-kote

I am keeping him in a box, with water, hay, food, and a little nest (made with a old shirt) If you look at my other thread, I am looking for a hutch, as I only have 2

Well, as I don't know exactly how your little bun's leg looks and the exacts of what happened to him, I cannot tell you what his chances are... But I do know that as long as he is not in pain and the leg heals alright, he may yet have a wonderful life.

I know someone who has an adorable 1 year old buck that had one of his back legs amputated after it got crushed from something falling on him. And he gets around fine! :)
He has more difficulty on slippery surfaces (such as tile, wood, linoleum, etc) but he is actually quite happy.

You will have to decide whether or not it worth the time and money (and it depends on how badly he was hurt), but I wish you both the best. :clover:

there is a picture on pg. 4

-update
he is doing well, hopping, licking his littermates, so, I think he will make it.

he went to sleep in my hand when I was taking the picture (the blue is blu-kote)

__________ Thu May 09, 2013 11:54 pm __________

he is doing really well, and one of his ears is starting to lop! (the other 2 bunnies ears have lopped)
he is hopping around, eating, and it is his 6 week old birthday! so he has gone a week with 3 legs! :)

here is a picture of him, and in the hutch we are building :p

__________ Thu May 23, 2013 4:34 pm __________

he is doing very well, fur is starting to grow over the stump, is that good?
my little brother left the hutch door open, and Oreo jumped out, I didn't notice for about 10 minuets, and our deck (where the hutches are) is about 20 feet off the ground!

Glad to hear that he has adjusted so well, Little Bunny. :)

I'd say the fur on the stump is a very good thing!

How is his new hutch coming along?

Make sure you give him some resting boards so he can get off of the wire when he wants to.

oh, good :)
his hutch is doing well!
we have the floor, side walls, compartment walls, roof, and back walls, but nothing on the front yet :)
I will take a picture today.
I am planning on litterbox training him, and he will have his little "room" which I will put a hay in, and a resting board.

__________ Sat May 25, 2013 11:00 am __________

well..
the bump is gone!!
and the highest Oreo can jump is in the litterbox, and a little binky :)
