Is Magnolia safe for rabbits?

The maple should be safe - do you know what kind of maple?

Here is a thread on Lilac: Is Lilac safe for rabbits to eat (google isn't helping me !)

Crabapple is safe but it appears rabbits are divided on it as to how much they like it. Though I keep trying - like toddlers, their taste often improves with repetition.

I haven't ever baked the branches. I have given willow, mulberry, rose and plum. The likelihood is that the maple is okay as well. I have seen both red and silver on safe lists.

Here is the rub on maples. The decorative Japanese are reported as poisonous to rabbits. Red, Sugar, Rock, Curly, Silver are all OK. I can attest to these varieties of Acer.

You CAN bake the branches if you want. Frankly I think they will be more appealing to the rabbits if left to simply air dry. My rabbits largely ignore the toys made from kiln dried willow. On the other hand they cheerfully consume the mulberry branches and maple saplings.
