Today hubby and I got our auto-watering system mostly set up (still having an issue with the hose connector--hopefully we'll get that resolved tomorrow). I'm really excited to start using it. We also found our misting system, and we bought a hose timer to use with that, so that we don't have to have it running all the time when we're gone (and run the risk of another huge leak).

While hubby was installing the support for the float tank, we had to take Dot, one of our does, out of her cage so she wouldn't freak out with the drill. I was a little nervous because, while we're out there every day, talking to the buns and petting them, they don't get taken out and held very often. However, with my rabbit-whisperer son's help, we got her out without incident.

While she was out, I took the opportunity to brush her and trim her nails, which I'd never done before (I was too scared of hurting the rabbits). I didn't cut near enough of her nails, but at least I got the worst of it (half their length). Dot thoroughly enjoyed the pampering and playing on the grass for a bit, and I was even able to hold her and put her back into her cage myself! (Note to self--the top row of cages has GOT to be lowered--they're too high for me!)

Congrats! I promise you'll love it, watering really takes up a lot of time and having an auto-system is really helpful. just make sure to get a heater for the cold season!

Trinity lives in Texas....where flip flops and shorts are the uniform for the 'cold' season....

I should clarify that we live in SOUTH Texas, where, as OAF says, typical cold-weather attire is shorts and flip-flops. We used to live in the Texas Panhandle, which DOES get snow and below-freezing temps (sometimes even below 0F) every winter.

Today RWS (rabbit-whisperer son) and I are going to take all the other buns out of their cages, one at a time, and get them all groomed.

I had to brush out Big Mama the other day, she is blowing her coat like crazy! Srsly, big handfuls of fur just pulling off her hindquarters! I must have gotten a quart size ziploc full of fur off her!
