Something told me to go out and check on the rabbits.... I went out to give some fresh water .. I notice one of the kits out of the box and it is only 12 days old.. I picked it up and I notice that it was really stiff just a little.. so I gave water and came in the house and started to work on the little guy.. first I used the hair blow dryer than my furnace was coming on so I put it on my heat grate.. as you can see in the pic it looks dead.. but it isn't.. but almost.. Its lips are blue I kept flipping in over and I brought it back over to the hair dryer and it started to move just a little and then it started to shake.. now it can move its head and squeak.. I will keep it on the heat grate for a hour to make sure he is blood is warm because when I touch it.. It still feels cold to the touch.. I wrapped it in a small towel to hold in the heat. I am going to make its head so I know which one it was that got close to death.. It might still die tomorrow.. I don't know yet.. poor thing

That sucks!! For sure!! I hate it when I walk down the rows
and see a little one that's gotten chilled and not made it.
They get right at that age where they're nosier than they need to be
and find out they messed up.

Hopefully, your little fella will be okay.

Aww, poor little guy! I'm glad you found him in time to get him warmed back up.

(UPDATE)
The baby made the night no problem .. I put it back out when I did the bunny run.. as it was warm up and looked normal.. I put a blue marker on its head and under belly so I knew which one it was.. I looked this morning.. and it was the same as the rest.. Yaa,, I saved it.. now I check on the bunnies more often through the day until they can hop back in by them selves.

I'm glad the little one made it. I'm still trying to come up with a nesting solution that keeps the nest neatly in one place but lets little explorers back in at will. Hmm, well short of ground raising them with nesting huts that have entrances flat to the ground anyway. I used to keep does that way but, it got to taking up too much room to have them all on the ground (with dig out prevention of course.)

Glad you were able to save the little guy, Mary Ann. :)

If you place a brick next to the low end of the nest box, it will work as a step so the kits can get back in the nest more easily. Once I started doing that, I never lost another kit stranded outside the nest box, once their eyes were open. It won't save the tiny ones dragged out on momma's nipple, but once they can see where they are going and can hop, the brick is a big help.

I will do that Maggie.. thanks.. They are getting really curious now being 2 weeks old.. and tonight is going to be the coldest yet in a while.. so I had to put more fur in them to make sure they make it.. but if any gets out.. and if I am not there.. they don't make it.. this little one that I saved is still doing good. I though for sure it was dead.. It is amazing how far they can go and come back... but I often wonder how much damage it does on there brain.

I don't worry much over brain damage on the ones like that I save. If it eats and drinks and can keep itself alive, the basic instincts to live are intact and, that's good enough for it to get to butcher size. I have yet to see one seem terribly off over a near death experience, maybe a bit slow, as if mentally retarded but, not bad. Still capable of being a rabbit, just not so fast to explore new things or at figuring out things like treat balls they have to roll to get food out of.

Years ago I read(somewhere and can't remember where) that the best way to warm kits up was to stick them in your shirt against your skin. It works REALLY well. I don't have to worry about them either, I stick them in my bra and go about my other chores. About 20 minutes with the warmth and movement and they are squirming away, and can be stuck back in the nest box. I never found that warming them with a water bottle or light was as effective. A little unconventional, I know, but it works  Works well for chilled puppies and chicks too!

I lost one like that a few days ago. :(
I brought the rest of them inside. Wind chills are going to be bad tonight, and they are at just that age to pop out of the nest and not make it back in.

that wouldn't of worked in this case.. that is only good if they are a bit chilly.. this was almost dead.. It took an hour to warm it up with good heat going.
