AWESOME!

From the above website
Brahminy Blind Snakes are most often seen in soil and leaf litter, under rotten logs, or on pathways after heavy rain. They feed on termites, termite eggs and ant larvae.

All Brahminy Blind snakes are female and reproduce without sperm from a male.

Definately a keeper!! You've got your own little anti-termite army, but now the question is if they eat termites then why are they living on your property?

Well, you know the old saying...

"If it looks like a snake, slithers like a snake, and er- -quacks like a snake, it's a snake!"

Now, aren't you glad you didn't step on them, since according to your link,

They feed on termites, termite eggs and ant larvae.

This is weird...

Maybe they are after the ants! Lol...

There are subterranean termites. If there are a lot of rotting logs around that would be a great habitat for both the snakes and termites.

When I read you said it was stiff, I was going to say when I was a kid we used to find what we called blind snakes that were tiny like that, but I see you found out what it was. Ours were not that color, though. They were dark red or like flesh colored with red on one end. We would only find them after it rained. We would go move stuff around and look UNDER boards and barrels and whatever kind of stuff sat in one place to find roly polys and blind snakes. I never see any anymore.

Thats neat!!! Around here we have a little brown garter snake about that size. We kept one over night trying to identify it and SHE had babies! They were like living hairs they were so tiny!!! :)
