How much does everyone pay for cell phone service

I had to get one, as I am usually not home, at work, sheep herding, walking, or somewhere driving alone. If's more like an emergency phone, if I fall off a cliff while hiking, or blow a tire on the highway (which has happened). Single woman driving alone = cell phone.
In general, I hate phones. Always have. I hate the feel of having it pressed to my head, and unable to use the other hand, or that bluetooth in my ear.
I have an Android, totally useless piece of trash, and I'm not obsessed with playing games on it like 50% of the populace, so it's rarely charged. Contact by email is faster.

I do text.

$30 prepaid TMobile. 1500 minutes per month, and I never go through half, data but there is WIFI everywhere so I seldom use it. The phone will fill up with text storage before I ever reach a limit, and then I think text starts eating talk minutes, so I have no idea how many text minutes I have.

I paid $49.99 plus tax for a ATT Android GoPhone months ago, and pay $25.00 a month for unlimited texts and 250 minutes. I don't use the minutes up usually and I use text constantly. I would love to have data, but just too expensive on limited budget right now. If I take pictures with my phone, I use wifi at library or other freebie spot to transfer instead. I have the 3 way calling, call waiting, and voice mail with that plan too. I usually check my voice mail from a land line a couple times a week. I can change it to an unlimited if need be before I pay for the month for $70.00 or $60 cannot remember which. I think most are that way though with the prepaid. I have had Net10, tracfone, ntelos, Verizon, sprint, and several others over the years. ATT is the only one I've gotten remotely reliable service for in the areas I travel and am in on a regular basis.

I can attest to that! One cell phone I have right now is a Net10- I buy a 20$ card now and then for it, since I was given a used smarter, Straighttalk a while ago. I pay a tad under 50$ a month for unlimited talk, text, and internet-- of course, the phone, though not the most current, makes me feel pretty stupid-- yes, I can retrieve some e-mail with it, some FB stuff, and texting is a pain, but at least it has a slide out keyboard.
Like Sky, I am not glued to my phone- the dang thing is for MY convenience and safety, NOT someone else's.
what is really funny, Net10, NetZero, Tracfone, and Verizon are all the 'same' company- yet the coverage varies so widely out here- you have to really be willing to ask a lot of questions of people to find out which plan/brand is the best fit for one's purposes. My Net10 is what the Amish use for work purposes- Their kids are sneaking the I-stuff into the dark corners, then complaining about lack of service...
