Already feeling better - my head is much clearer than yesterday, but my digestive system is still not working all that well.
My family understands that there will be only one doe bred a month to start with. I only have a small shed to work with, they know that the small breeds are my main focus, and that I'm only doing "this meat thing" because they want me to. The main reason I am giving my mom's bf and my brother each a quarter for processing is, well, I don't want to do it. Originally, I was going to do it all on my dime, and process them myself, and it would just be a gift for my family... Until I realized I've been going through 2 bags of kibble a month since getting the meat rabbits. Which is double what I was going through when it was just the Vlops and Lions(I got 2 itty bitty polish at the same time, but they don't eat hardly anything!)
The friends who are getting meat know as well that it is a "surplus" thing. When I have it, there's 2 or 3 that are interested in a share, that know they are going to take turns. And occasionally, I may want to keep my own share.
The whole point of doing the meat share is that I simply cannot afford to do this so small scale and sell the meat for money. It has to be processed by a butcher to be legal, and once I've paid the butcher, I would have to charge, like, 15$ a rabbit.
But, I've made sure, everyone knows this is MY terms.
