hard to peel

Ok.. This is my first time doing furs. So today was the second day in the pickling solution.. I started peeling. It was hard to do and some of it i can get off. Is it always this hard to do .. I am giving them one more day to soak and do it again. any tips

Yes. Fleshing sucks. I have a ton of salt preserved hides cause I got sick of fleshing the pickled ones. I do find salt curing them first and then pickling makes it easier but it still sucked. I may just throw out all my rabbit hides and call it quits.

I am going to give it a go again tomorrow.. I have salt in the water with the alum.

A dull knife is invaluable. Preferably pocket size/type.

Thanks akane .. THAT Did work better ..... Also i left them one more day.. It made a big differnce .. So a big tip... Instead of 2 days in the pickle for the first session.. GO THREE.
