My poor Pygmy Henry first battled Goat Polio, next was hairloss and now he's got pinkeye. All of this seems to be a spiral from the stress of the polio, immune system taxed, etc... I've been giving him probiotics, Selenium, Vit. E and D along with a general herbal immune booster. Im waiting for a copper supplement to arrive. Today I've added Cod Liver Oil and wiping his face with diluted apple cider vinegar. The goats' water has 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar mixed in per gallon, I do this for all of my animals.
Have any of you battled goat pink eye before using a natural approach? I know in humans probiotics and a good herbal supplement/immune booster can fix it. I'm guessing it's the same in goats. Everything I've been reading is saying to get a prescription and so on. I'd rather not go to the vet and do a prescription...more than likely that would wipe out good bacteria in gut and leave him even more susceptible than he already is to illnesses.
Thanks for your input!
