I have either a very girl scout type or OCD type first time mom in one of my hutches. She's pulling all the hay out of the feed box and piling it on the cage floor, digging a tunnel in the mound. So.....nest box? It's early but I palpatated her at 14 days and felt 2 small "grapes".

Thoughts?

I wondered about that. I guess I'm not sure because I definitely felt somebunny in there......

I did have two cases of wool-pullers midway that actually went to term with kits. I, too felt those kits. Bunnies can be funny sometimes.

Mine are on day 20/21 and doing the same thing, but they are positivly pregnant, at least one of them who is also doing 80% of the "work".
Pulling fur so soon can be sign of false pregnancy, but the other signs (with me) means "I`ll have bunnies, let me get everything ready" :)

Well she's not pulling fur but she's furiously creating a hay mountain. Should I give her a nest box?

I've had does nest that early -- even pulling fur -- and it wasn't a false pregnancy.

Since she wants to play house so badly, it's okay to give her a nest box. If she soils it, take it away until day 28. :)

Hm, I have the same behaviour with a first timer, nestbuilding and fur pulling fit on day 18. Nothing since then, completly normal for 4 days now.

I really hope that that's no false pregnancy.

And crap, I almost forgot to seperate the last litter from the other doe, 13 weeks now, I thought when they are weaned it's a good time and didn't track the time, but that didn't happen :x

No fur pulling but she seems to have settled down after I cleaned her cage and destroyed her pack rat size hay mountain. I'm a big party pooper I guess ;). Hopefully those two little grapes I felt are still there doing their thing.

for what it's worth, I give them a nest box when they ask for it. if around day 14-15... I know it will be false so I know I can just rebreed them on day 17.

If post day 16 they are probably bred and will mess around with a nestbox for a couple of days and then ignore or sit in it and poop/pee. So mess around for a couple of days. I put it above the does cage and then give it back to her in another 1.5 weeks.

I just had one have false pregnancy she was building a nest on day 14. I never really palpatated any of my does tho thinking maybe I should start. Because I waited till day 35 to find out what I kind of already knew no bunnies. Anyway next time I'll know. I try to write things like that down to see if there are any patterns.

I had my first false pregnancy today. The breeder I purchased the doe from was pregnant when I got her at 14 days and then poof...no babies. She was nest building on day 31-32 and nada.
