My doe has a nestbox and she's due anytime however she is building her nest in the opposite corner of her cage and just started pulling fur. Should I move the nest she is building into the nestbox or leave it where she's building it? This is her first litter and she is in a solid bottom cage.

I usually allow them to build for a while and then carefully take the nest they have built and put it in the box. Then I move the box to the place they were building. Then I make sure there's LOTS of hay/straw covering the floor of the cage so that if she has them outside the box they have a chance. Then I watch and check frequently for when she kindles. If kits are outside the nest box I move them into the box and make sure they are covered. Of course if the weather is very hit that's not as important. Once the kits are in the box my does have all fed them there.
