Not sure what color this Holland Lop doe is. She's definitely in the taupe range. The breeder said she was a straight lilac but that doesn't seem quite right because of all her darker bits. A breeder friend says lilac silver marten.

The last two pics aren't super but maybe give an overall light/dark picture.

Any thoughts?

thank you

No I didn't think lilac either simply because her color is so multi dimensional.

I see tan, not chocolate, sable, not blue, non extension
= at_ B_ cchl_ D_ ee

which makes her a sable point otter and not a showable colour in any breed but very pretty :D

I'm hoping my black buck will be a good choice to breed her to, otherwise I think I'll part with her.

How were you able to see the difference between at and A here? I'm impressed and hope to learn to see this.

Good grief me too!! I feel like I'm back in calculus trying to stop my ears from bleeding

definitely has the tan/otter/marten gene in her.

Pretty rabbit.

She looks to me like a martinized sable chin (so basically what Dood said). :)

Thanks everyone. She's not a show girl but 99% of my sales are pets so hopefully she'll give me some interesting and pretty babies.

:yeahthat:

I would love to know this as well.

Thanks everyone!

Here is a picture of a sable marten = at_ B_ chl_ D_ E_
image.jpeg from : http://www.pets4homes.co.uk/classifieds ... tbury.html

You can see the more distinct white outlining on the nose, eyes, ears (and along the jaw line, but not visable in this picture)

The agouti based rabbits - frosty (agouti sable = A_ B_ cchl_ D_ ee) or sable chin (= A_ B_ cchl_ D_ E_ ) or steel sable chin (A_ B_ cchl_ D_ Es_ ) will have a more even blending in their trimmings into the darker fur and the ring pattern in their fur is much more evident and they won't look "shaded" and with darker areas but have a more even colouring

The rabbit in the OP looks shaded and just like a sable point - with very little ring pattern - but has the white trim so it must be the tan gene instead of the agouti
