There seem to be quite a few of us Californian rabbit raisers on RT now- anyone going to the show in Lancaster?

I know that Sundew's Rabbitry is going to be there, so that makes two of us. :p She is going to bring a buck to breed to Showoff since she didn't take last time.

I will be showing Rex and Jersey Woolys. :)

Hoping "Victory Garden's" Rexes and JW's do well at the show. Hope you update and let all know how it goes.

Thanks, Z! :D

I will of course let everyone know how we do. :) Last year there were two (count 'em... TWO!) other exhibitors of Rex.

But that's okay with me, really... I just want feedback from the judges so I can learn to evaluate my rabbits accurately.

I look forward to hearing how you and your bunnies do. Feedback from the judges will be an excellent way to evaluate, but to be perfectly honest I think you know how to evaluate your rabbits. Especially your Rexes. Hoodat's post show how well your Rexes do.

Look forward to reading the results and your experience. Your love of have put that lovely breed on my "Wish List". '

Thanks for the compliment, Z!

I know that I have a LOT to learn though. I'm pretty secure on the husbandry end, but the show end... well, not so much!

I hope someday you do bring a Rex into your wonderful tribe. :) They have very engaging personalities, and petting them is like nothing else!

Had the absolute pleasure of meeting a Rex in person. Amazing plush coat. And the smile on the young girl's face who presented him to me, showed me that they do have engaging personalities. Already have Rex on my "Wish" List. Would love to get to know one. Love Rabbits with engaging personalities.

And I have no doubt that as securely you feel about the husbandry end, you will in no time feel secure in the show end with your Rexes and your JW's.

(2) exhibitors and you makes 3 which along with 5 rabbits in the class is all you need for a leg. Good luck at the show!

:p :p :p VICTORY IS MINE!!! :p :p :p

Showoff, my SR Jersey Wooly doe, took BOB out of twenty rabbits!

And, 'Lectric Blue, my blue buck, took BOSB out of 17 Rex!!!

There is more to report, but those are the highlights.

The pups and I are very pleased, especially Queenpup, since I entered Showoff as her bunny, and she has been trying to claim her from the start.

Oh... did I mention I brought home a blue Beveren doe? And have arranged to buy a Beveren buck who just happened to take second at convention? :SOSSOS:

Lol MSD. Another breed to feed the rabbitosis.
Congrats on the wins. That's great news. I may have popples but you have a leg!!!!

I know- but considering I only had one competitor at my first show, and two at the second, it isn't really a hotbed of competition.

I enrolled my 3 kids and my Hubs in ARBA and enter rabbits under the kid's names since they attend the shows with me. Hubs hasn't gone yet, so no bunnies for him! ;) If we (as a family) can bring the numbers up by entering enough to make five per variety or group at least, there are more legs to be had per show, which will make it more worthwhile for all of us Rex exhibitors in the area.

It was an accident! Really! More on that in an as yet unwritten post...

Oooh! Good point! :D No popples for a while, either... Showoff wasn't quite ready today, but we will try again at another show. :)

Congrats on the wins and on the new breed

Thanks, Mina! The Beveren really took to Hubs, and he likes her too. He couldn't help but pet her since she had plastered herself up against his leg while he was sitting on the couch. :)

So thrilled to hear about your Excellent time at the Show. Congratulations to your JW and Rex on their win.

And hey, if you have the room, I think you should have 10 different breeds. Such a variety. Look forward to seeing pics of your Beveran and hearing about the "accidental" purchase.

A family that plays together, IMHO, is a happy family! What a nice way to spend time together. Ours was shooting! We all loved to go to the range.

YEAH!!!!!!!!! :mbounce: :cheerleader:

JW are stiff competition. And very nice turnout for the Rex.

Congrats on the new addition. So that brings your total up to four breeds? I don't feel like such a nut now. But I still want an angora :)

Congrats MSD! I've been told we have to have a rabbit barn before we can add any more breeds!

Congratulations !!! JW competition is usually quite stiff !! And glad that Your Rexes are getting legs.
( btw... Your husband does not Need to be At the show for rabbits to be entered in his name......)

So looking forward to the season starting up again next year !!! having withdrawal already !!!

I may take that little sable marten buck kit to Nationals next may. And since Itest was so happy with the litter I bred her back to the same buck. :)I You should go to Nationals.
