I mostly agree with the "speech" as written.

Most students in schools today learn anything but academics. In some schools, they are taught that America is bad, America is the enemy, and they are ideologically armed to one day overthrow us. This is unacceptable.

Most are taught that our form of government is evil, and socialism is the answer. The problem is, socialism has failed everywhere it has been tried around the world, and in dozens of communities in this very country over the years.

They are taught to have high self-esteem, while having no reason for having it. We rank #1 in the world in self-esteem among students, but we do poorly in academics. In other words, our kids are struggling and ignorant, but they feel great about it.

Some are taught in other languages, rather than the students being expected to learn English. Any other country, you immigrate, you learn the language. There's nothing wrong with that.

Maggie is right. We should be able to be proud of our heritage, while being proud that we are American. Our ancestors moved here for a reason. It would prove useful for these kids to find out why. Many risked their lives to reach these shores. Mine were some of them. Why?

Anybody who hates this country should move to one that fits their ideals, rather than changing this one. I notice that the Hollywood people who keep saying how terrible this country is, and how wonderful other countries' socialist or fascist governments are, never move to those countries. Isn't that odd? If they love it so much, why not move there? Because they know their lives there would not be a quarter as good as it is here. I'm not saying past wrongs like slavery and discrimination are okay. But working to overthrow our system of government is wrong. Granted, much of our government operates outside its allowed boundaries, and it needs to be reined in, but that's another issue.

I don't care who wrote it, I don't even care if it is a real person. I don't agree with everything said. I was in gospel choir in school, and that would be a religious organization, restricting members to a particular religious group.

But it's nice to have someone express what they believe and take a stand. Everyone is so PC, they are afraid to take a stand. Stand for nothing, fall for anything. As my very strange chemistry teacher used to say, I may not believe what you believe, but I will fight for your right to believe it. And as a member of a minority---a very cliquish minority---there is nothing wrong with being a part of a unified culture, but still retaining your "subculture" identity.
