How did it go Nymph? Did you get babies?
We did get 1 set of babies back in February, but more importantly I have 2 litters due today! No idea if one of the does took, but we're crossing our fingers here!
And I really like the idea of your new pen solution... if you have time to take a picture, mind sharing?
I do not mind at all!
![Big grin :D :D](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Will go take some today and put them in the gallery as that is the only picture posting method I have figured out yet.

Dont you just hate it when you grab your phone only to find someone (who shall remain named youngest son) has drained it dry.

Just when I thought I had figured out at least posting into the gallery it won't work now. Says it is too big BUT it is the exact same as I had last time so why it won't work this time? No idea.

Rawlsay, Bea and Indira. They live in the 4 ft by 4 ft cage rebuilt from a huge thrown away cage I picked up last month.

This is a better one of the buck and gives a better idea as to the size of the cage.
This new phone camera seems to take videos as often as it does pictures so the best ones I thought I had of the girls with him are little clips instead of lovely pictures. One step at a time, today posting pictures, tomorrow perhaps videos or even, the World mwahahahaaaa!
The world might be the easier of the two!

Our first successful litter, out of Taz and Monty. Sadly Vortex´s litter all died. No idea why but she eagerly lifted for Monty so fingers are again crossed for her.

Not the best picture of Taz but you can see her going from one cage to another, behind the cage her kits are in. She has 4 ft by 4 ft as well but it is made up of four 2x2 cages all j-clipped together and doors cut in.

Abys and Mae. Never try to take pictures at dinner time, I was holding up the door and they were standing on it trying to see what I had for them.

Shows their color a bit better.
Shows their space a bit as well, they have three large cages cut with doors that they run through like a maze. The stand is an old trampoline, repurposed. They are my new favorite stand, they hold together with no effort and are solid and yet stay nice and clean and are easy to clean up the mulch from underneath. And they show up for free on CL, how great is that!

A bit better of Taz, you can see part of the roof made up of large slabs of styrofoam. As long as the chickens can't reach it, in the South, styrofoam is fantastic stuff, keeps things cool.

This is Monty and Vortex in the hog pen panel cage. The floor is a foot off the ground, made with half inch by one inch 16 gauge wire with one bit of metal pipe (chain link fence pole, I think) to reinforce it. Over the top perhaps but I like things solid.
The sides are wrapped in inch by two inch cage wire and as the j-clips were too small for the job and I had no c-rings, I stitched the entire thing together with hot wire wire I scrounged from the derelict house next door.
The next one will be made with c-rings, it will be MUCH faster!

How they can make their water so mucky so fast is a mystery.
The overhanging edge of the top of their pen makes them think they can't climb out. The next time I have a proper covered area for my cages - instead of sheet metal and styrofoam - I will put a wire door on but for now, the styrofoam lid is working fine. Well, it would be a heck of a tricky escape, some bunnies would manage it but not my big fat slugs.
Cavity blocks are not as easy as Lego bricks to work with. I am working on the best arrangement for the bunker and have not yet gotten it. And, as I will have to cut out one bar of the heavy bit of the cage, that will have to wait until it is perfect to be finished.

__________ Mon Mar 25, 2019 11:24 am __________

Last but not least, River Song! She is the only bunny left in a smaller cage. Two 2x2 cages attached end to end and a door cut through. So it isn't too bad, 2ft by 4ft but it looks tiny now to me. She is on chance two out of three on the kit front. And of them all, she is the one I want most to breed. Of course.
