I'm having a really difficult time finding a technique for getting the slime layer off between the skin and the meat. Also I can't seem to get the silver skin off cleanly without butching the butchering job. Ideas?

Just calmly explain to her, what you did to us. She can't fault you for having your own reasons to not needing him, after all, she didn't seem to have a problem with him being snake food to begin with.

My does start nesting at 14 days or so, I put in their nextbox around day 25 and they always, without fail, have the babies outside of the nestbox. I always transfer them to the nestbox as soon as possible, and the moms don't seem to care. Mine also get friendlier when pregnant :)
