    Days old kits dying off

Size difference in the remaining two: Close up of the smaller one, noticing the eyes: The buck is a Vienna marked, and certainly carries the dwarf gene. I didn't think the doe had the dwarf though, she's a large Holland. Of the 5 kits, I know at least two were Vienna marked - the surviving...

    Days old kits dying off

Thanks for the replies everyone- She has been bred only by this buck. Oh! I did not even think about peanuts - I thought they were more noticeable in a litter, but after checking online again, they seem very much like some of the kits. I thought some variation in the kit size difference was...

    Days old kits dying off

It doesn't get much below 50F at night right now, so shouldn't be a temperature issue. She did pull plenty of fur. Next litter I'll just have to hope the 18% feed and checking more often will help save more - she's the only BEW doe I have at the moment so I can't replace her yet.

    Days old kits dying off

My BEW Holland Lop kindled 5 kits on the 25th, no external injuries, lots of fur pulled. On the 27th, I found one dead in the nestbox near the opening rather than nestled further down with the others. On the 29th I found two more dead with the remaining 2 living. One of the surviving kits is...

    Blind? Eye Infection?

No cases of those things, but I've only had my Hollands for a year. This is the second litter out of my BEW doe. I'm thinking I'll try Terramycin for a week and see if it helps. Otherwise (or if it gets worse) I'll see a vet about it.

    Blind? Eye Infection?

Got a good look at my 3 week old kits and noticed that one's eye was different from the other. The right eye's pupil is much larger and cloudy. The other eye and other kits' eyes' pupils are not this large. Is this a cataract or eye infection? Would Terramycin or flushing the eye with Vetericyn...

    Hair Loss Around Front Toes

Thanks for the additional suggestion, I will do that for her because the area around her toenail bed does look a little flaky.

    Hair Loss Around Front Toes

Ah, that could very well be it! She had been put with a buck a few weeks ago but no actual magic had happened. I'll keep an eye on her and make sure it doesn't get worse.

    Hair Loss Around Front Toes

Doing the monthly nail trim/rabbit RX and notice one of my Holland Lop doe's front toes are missing hair! No hair loss from anywhere else on the body, not on the back feet, and no ear mites. Her appetite is unchanged. Couldn't find anything specific about what it could be with only some front...

Skin sores on one of my bucks?

Thank you guys. We looked more in to botflies and fly strike after your replies and will be taking the appropriate actions to get them out and healed! We'll also check all of the other rabbits very carefully and do the same.

Skin sores on one of my bucks?

We just got four young Champagne d'Argents about a week ago, two bucks and two does. The bucks had been in the same cage when we got them, and are now separated. We found a few raised areas on one of the bucks, which looked like possible bite injuries. We took a couple of pictures of one of the...

    BEATING HEART

We've had a few whose muscles were twitching a lot long after butchering! No beating hearts yet, glad to see a video of one in action!
