    Frozen water

The aquarium heater is set to 80 degrees, and is moving through the tubes at all times, so there is no freezing. And with the drinker valves so close to the moving, warm water, they should stay unfrozen also.

Split open spay wound - What to do

First, a picture would help. Usually, if it's been a day, I'd stitch or staple it myself, but then again, I have those supplies at hand. After 3 days, there's no point in trying to re-stitch it, unless it rips completely open again. Not sure if you can use neosporin on rabbits, but if you can...

Winter automatic watering system - with pictures!

I am wrapping the bucket with insulation. Not really a way to insulate 5/16" tubing, especially without the rabbits being able to chew at it. My setup is in an enclosed trailer that we use just for kindling, so that we can breed through the winter, and is heated to 50 degrees. The next build...

    Quarantine time

We do a full 30 days also. Although we're running out of QT space the way I keep acquiring new rabbits... Chewy and Hans are in the same cage for the QT period, as they are only 6 weeks old and small enough.

    Building your own cages.

For those of you who build your own cages, what are your "actual" costs. I'm looking to build my own cages, instead of going bankrupt at TSC buying $30 cages. So far, what I have found, not including J clips, which only add a minimal amount to cage costs, I can purchase a 30 x 100 (1/2" x...

    Trip to emergency vet

Might be a worthwhile investment to purchase a surgical stapler. They do come in handy, and you can save yourself an emergency vet trip... I can get you a few links to suppliers if you want.

    DIY stacking cages help??

We got corrugated metal roofing to use as pans for under our hanging cages, which will eventually be stacked 2 high. They will be angled to lead into a gutter, which will drain into a 5 gallon bucket. Wash down the pans into the gutter, wash down the gutter into the bucket, take the bucket out...

Why, oh why, do they have to be like potato chips? UP W PICS

Background: We started off with 2 of the 24 x 24 cages, planning to get a breeding pair and go from there, buy another cage in August, then another few in September, and slowly build up to what we want. In July, when we went to look at the rabbits, we ended up bringing 5 home. Now, it's mid...

Why, oh why, do they have to be like potato chips? UP W PICS

Long story short, we were out today, getting our normal monthly purchases, and I called the one place where I get buns from occasionally (my FIRST mistake). The same place where I got Benny. So, after we finished our shopping, I stopped by there to see what rabbits they had (my SECOND mistake)...

I clamp the ear clean, then apply ink/paste wirh q-tip sparingly. Q-tip makes rubbing the ink into the holes easier.

Now that I have your attention:  As a "newer" bunny "hoo hoo looker/guesser", I always like to "verify", so I'll post the pictures and ask for a more "expert" opinions... As a side note, I didn't realize how difficult it is to get pictures of hoo hoos from rabbits. they are squirmy! 1)...
