Chat Temporary (How do we chat?)

On a side note, we've got a lot of snow, a lot of wind, and a lot of drift mountains... Love winter in Wisconsin!

Chat Temporary (How do we chat?)

I don't think I can second it, as I started the thread... But Fernie could...

Chat Temporary (How do we chat?)

What a surprise to turn on the computer and find the RT chatbox gone, and the chat room link on the side missing too. Already going through withdrawals... :help: What do we do now?

Rant. Yeah I rarely rant but today I need to.

We have to pay $45 per ton of trash we haul to the dump, and they don't take any kind of electronics or appliances. I haven't had to dispose of any yet, so not sure what the procedures would be here. Getting yelled at for doing something you didn't have to do? sucks.

    My own snow woes!

And crazy me just rode the ATV to town and back. In negative temps with wind plus riding wind. :slap: :doc: :-x

Schools on 2 hour delay due to...

Our kids' school here in Wisconsin was closed yesterday and today due to the cold.

    Happy Birthday Fernie!!!

Nope. She got frozen toes and fingers, and a giant headache. :(

    Aggravation....

We've got the same thing going on here. We've got one litter born in November, and the one litter we lost this month from the first time momma. Should have at least one litter of harlequins here in the next week or so. It's frustrating. The current chicken pen is going to get cleaned out once...

Best water nipples and where to get them?

The vktech ones I got I think were $7.50 for 20, and setting aside the "issue" with the tees, they function just like all the other ones we've seen. Then again, the tees aren't a problem, as I am one to keep extra supplies on hand anyways, "just in case".

Cleaning and mucking in the winter-How do you guys do it?

I have a 17 cu.ft. garden dump trailer I pull behind the ATV for the solids that I don't send down the gutter system, and for those few cages that we have pans under, that are not on the bucket system. It's a bit cold, and I'm a bit lazy, especially now with building the chicken housing, to rig...

    Annie's first nest

We've had girls make nice bowls in the hay, but nothing like what Annie has done.

    Annie's first nest

Annie, our 6 month old harlequin doe, is obviously expecting her first litter. She's not due to get a nestbox until 1/5. And, yes, I'm sure of the breeding date. I found her using her eating hay to build a nest in the corner. So, just to appease her, I put a nestbox in lastnight. I figured she...

    procedures for new popples

Up until the litter from November, I used to weigh each one every week and record the weights. What changed? A litter of 7 white new zealands. Absolutely no way to tell them apart, and mom licked off the sharpie marks I put on within the first hour.

How Many Cages Do I Need?

Rabbitosis rule #1: You can NEVER have too many cages... And trust me on this one, I KNOW! :rotfl:

Best water nipples and where to get them?

Mine have a plastic "screw" insert that you screw out of the back and all the inners come right out. Clean, repair, etc... then screw them back together, and pop back into the tubing.

Best water nipples and where to get them?

I ordered mine off of Amazon. vktech I think. the tees are a bit on the thin side, but as long as you don't twist the tubing on them, they aren't too bad. mine are holding up so far, but I have backups just in case.

way to much snow over here

I just looked out the window here, and it doesn't seem like the county plow has been by. I haven't had the chance to go plow out our driveway yet, but it's still snowing here, and unless it's a constant, heavy snowfall, I try to wait until it stops.

    Bunny pitshurs

We're getting a pair of black silver foxes and a pair of blue silver foxes, sometime in the beginning of the year. Plus I found someone selling 19 harlequins, and am currently trying to convince Fernie, and find the space, to go get as many as I can. In true rabbitosis fashion, I say: screw it...

Just some bunny pictures, for no reason really! I don't know what to call Hershey, he's a milk chocolate color with blue eyes: And, Alice and some of her current litter:
