    Maybe Getting Chickens! Advice?!

I had a lot of fun with my bantams (I had dutch and nankin). It took about 3 bantam eggs to make 1 normal egg, though.

    Show careers after kindling?

A proven brood doe I sold got best of breed at ARBA nationals  Her half sister escaped at a show (nationals 2014) at 4 months old, and had a litter a month later... then went on to win best in specialty show at the national breed specialty (albeit in youth). I've noticed my does do as well...

    making the nest

They make a nest with hay first, then line it with their fur closer to kindling time from my experience

Brand new to breeding, questions about females!

You should definitely separate them before its time for them to give birth, imo the sooner the better so they can get used to their new home before its time to start nesting. I think it's also a good idea to breed both at the same time, that way if one of them is a bad mother (or if anything...

    Ear mites

A bit of ivermection dropped straight into the ear worked for me (I think it was injectible ivermectin)

Is this kit some type of sable?

It's probably sallander if it's out of a chinchilla and orange (but if you were looking to show, most sallanders fit the color description of sable point so they aren't usually dq'ed for color)

    Best bunny has white toenails

IMO you should not keep her to breed to a broken, the babies are likely to carry genetics for white toenails and throw white toenails. This would not only solidify the white toenail genetics into your line (when its harder to cull out because you can't tell which have stray white nails, because...

    Best bunny has white toenails

Shadeds generally don't place as well as selfs in many breeds, largely because of the lower numbers and the fact that they don't breed true (throwing rew's and seals). But they are more common in JW than some other breeds so you should be able to find some pretty good quality shaded JW out...

    Best bunny has white toenails

I myself wouldn't worry about it until you get another kit from that line with a white toenail showing up. Then you can step back and decide who is worth keeping, despite likely carrying white toenails. Personally I would be looking more towards the sire, as white toenails often run in shaded lines.

    Best prices for cages

The cages seem sturdy enough to me without the dividers, I've not had any problems with it

Could my french lop buck be vienna marked?

I'd guess that those were frosties and not BEW, and the mark on his ear was a scar or white spotting and not VM. It's a strange placement for vienna marking, and vienna is rare in french lops

(oops sorry looks like it double posted)

    Best prices for cages

I buy from KW cages, but what I do personally to get sturdy, wider cages when I need bigger cages is buying condos for dwarf rabbits (with metal dividers between the cages) and taking out the dividers. For example, one cage I have right now has cages 16" x 24" inches, 3 next to each other, but I...

    What color is this?

Reds can also be chocolate based. Black based reds are more common simply because black based rabbits are more common, but there are some red lines that have had chocolate bred in to "clean up" the color (as chocolate colored smut is harder to see against a red background)

    True vs false dwarves

Usually by the time they're about four weeks old I see noticeable differences, just personally

    What color is this?

Dilute of red. Usually called cream. Called fawn in some breeds with brighter colors (mini satin might fit under that). There's no official name as they're not a recognized color in the US. They're sometimes called blue or lilac reds to say whether they're a blue base or lilac base under the...

Red buck with "widow's peak" of darker color

He looks more amber to me as well I see that marking in agouti rex pretty often, more from fur structure than color. That tends to be a place where the fur is dense and stands up pretty readily so we see more of the darker tips than the pale undercolor like we see on the rest of the face

Wow.. prettiest litters yet! Couple color questions:)

The litter I see the vm chestnut, opal... the lighter one is sort of looking shaded agouti, maybe smoke pearl agouti or even a really pale sable agouti The second litter I see three sable agoutis and a white... could be rew or bew at this point I'd just wait and see on that last holland baby...

they look blood-red when they first open them dark eyes look black when they first open them Its possible you might have frosted pearls instead of red-eyed whites if they have dark eyes
