    Protective spray for trays

Honestly, I've never found anything that can help metal withstand rabbit urine! But if I was willing to deal with trays, I might try using a spray-on truck bed liner. That would probably be cheaper than ordering replacement trays made of plastic, which would be my second option.

    Magpie Color?

That looks like it might be a sable magpie , or maybe a broken sable magpie, since it's spotted instead of banded/striped. The nose marking and the pale parts on the back look like the sepia tones produced by the sable aka shaded allele <c(chl)>. The only hesitation I have is what appears to...

    Help with color

I agree with @Sagebrush - the first looks like a fawn or light orange with silvering coming in. The age would be about right for a rabbit with one copy of the silvering allele, though it is interesting that it would have hidden in the fawn and black parents, as silver <si> is usually partially...

Whats the best and quickest way to put on weight?

We've raised Satin, Champagne, New Zealand and Californian market pens. Feeding is the same for all breeds. For best market gain, we free-feed high-quality pellets plus some additional fat, usually BOSS (black oil sunflower seeds), but we've also used oats (whole or rolled) or Calf Manna. If...

    Weather-based color changes?

The sable aka shaded allele <c(chl)> may be somewhat temperature-sensitive. I've noticed that very often sables get "blotchy" during a molt, and sometimes never return to the smooth, even color of their first prime coat, especially when the molt coincides with warm temperatures. However, since...

    Colour questions

Yes, that looks like a lilac (dilute chocolate <aabbC_ddE_>) and a blue to me. Although I'd like to see more of the lilac's body to be able to pick up on the pinkish hue, I can't think of anything else it could be. The top bunny (Dragon?) looks like a regular black harlequin; yes, you can just...

    Should I breed this doe?

It sounds to me like she is nervous and unused to being handled, but from what you've described I wouldn't necessarily assign her a bad temperament. If she is really big and you were unsure about handling her, she may very well have picked up on your insecurity and panicked. My suggestion...

Using a Rabbit Wringer, Hopper Popper, etc

You might let her settle and just try again later. It could be that something in particular set her off - a weird angle to her leg as you held her, a tug on a sensitive patch of hair, etc. I've had rabbits (of all ages) scream for no apparent reason, then be fine later in the same situation...

10 month old sf buck extremely hard to skin?

I kind of suspect it would not make a huge difference. No one at my place likes to harvest mature animals (5-6 months and over), even though they are the ones with the mind-blowing prime pelts, because it's so hard to get them to let go of their hide. My middle daughter is currently my harvest...

    Harli/tri genetics

He looks like a vienna-marked (VM) sable point to me. That's a self non-extension sable carrying vienna <aaB_c(chl)_D_ee>. VM means the rabbit carries one copy of the partially dominant vienna allele <v>. When a rabbit gets two copies <vv> it is a Blue-Eyed White (BEW). So if you could find...

10 month old sf buck extremely hard to skin?

Like @tambayo I have found that mature bucks are harder to skin than does; their musculature is tighter and their skin is thicker. I usually have to use a knife for all mature rabbits. I also find that very fat rabbits are harder to skin than trim ones.

    Chinchilla Rex at last!!

If you still have the breeders' contact info, they might be willing to sell you the pedigrees after the fact. I have done so many times, usually for a nominal fee because I like to encourage people to keep pedigrees on their own rabbits. You should also be able to work backwards to figure out...

    Breedback

Well, then, yes, that's bizarre. Is one of the bucks the sire of her current litter, or are they both new guys? And are they actually trying to nurse, or are they just shoving their heads under her? The latter is a submissive signal, and some bucks are more lovers than fighters. Some bucks...

    Breedback

That's pretty bizarre...how old are the bucks??? Most of my bucks only have one thing on their mind, ever, and it's not milk. :ROFLMAO:

Black self Chin or something else??

So it may actually not be sable... @Julie Stade reminded me that in rex coats, specifically, a self chin can look like a seal. I posted as much in your other thread https://rabbittalk.com/threads/chinchilla-rex-at-last.36724/#post-363979 However... I'd still keep an open mind regarding sable...

    Chinchilla Rex at last!!

Yeah, actually given what @Julie Stade has posted about rex-coated self chins, it could very well be! And that would explain why it looked more like a seal than a sable. Here's the thread where she helped a lot of us out: https://rabbittalk.com/threads/self-chin-or.37355/#post-362911

Black self Chin or something else??

That looks like a dark sable to me. Honestly, it is actually so dark that it looks like a seal, which is a double sable <c(chl)c(chl)>. However, it cannot be seal if the dam is REW <cc>, since the bunny must have one copy of <c>. Sable is also called the shaded gene, and you've noticed the...

I think my doe went blind

That's an interesting point about both parasites lodging in the eye, especially since researchers are not completely sure what they're dealing with. E. cuniculi was originally classified as a protozoan. I think current consensus is "microsporidian," which doesn't get you that much closer to a...

    Smoke rabbit recipe please

18 months isn't what I'd consider especially old, and I would not expect any difference in flavor. She'll probably have more fat and be a little harder to skin, given that and the fact that the hide will be thicker and connective tissue stronger than in an 8-week-old fryer. Pressure cooking...

I think my doe went blind

I agree with @tambayo; it's best to reserve ivermectin - in fact, most drugs - for treatment when you are reasonably sure it's appropriate and needed. Prophylactic use of medications is linked to the development of resistant organisms. IMO treating just your doe would be the way to proceed...
