    Anyone Else Excited??

Only moved on to the farm last September, so really just starting ours ^_^

What do you charge???? RabbitTalk sellers guide!!

I haven't started breeding yet, but here's going by the current market (Nethies are being snapped up left and right) and what I'll probably try selling mine for (though it will probably fluctuate depending on how many people are buying). Pedigreed Holland Lops in my area for example, are on the...

    New Rabbit Precautions?

Picking up two rabbits on Thursday (which I am soo excited about!) Definitely don't want the same thing to happen as happened with my first attempt though so just in case it was my fault, I'm going to be taking every precaution possible with these two. What precautions do you take when bringing...

Are you making money or losing money with your rabbits?

I'm just getting started so not much to go off of. There seems to be a pretty big black hole when it comes to Netherland Dwarfs here around Vancouver so I'm guessing I'll do pretty well with all the people who want a tiny pedigree pet. If I were to do some of the larger rabbit breeds that I'm...

Nest of wild rabbits - what to do?

I had a wild hare about ten years ago...It was caught at a nursery and they were going to kill it so my parents took it off their hands. My sister and I spent a lot of time with it, calmly getting it used to us and within a few days it actually didn't mind being held (..sometimes, but the ten...

    Should I buy...

Good to know about the false dwarfs. I had read about that before but didn't quite know how one would tell the difference ^_^ The breeder is breeding both rabbits to her Blue Otter Grand Champion Buck which I am soooo so excited about as I would like to focus on blues in particular, so...

    Should I buy...

Thank you everyone for the feedback! Just asked the breeder if she wouldn't mind breeding them before selling (which I absolutely didn't think of before, and is a fantastic idea to get me started). I'd have to cross the border, but only an hour and a half away, so waaay closer than most. The...

    Should I buy...

Some of you have been following my rough journey of late...in the process of finding some Netherland Dwarfs to start off my rabbitry. Problem is, at this point in time I'm having a bit of trouble assessing rabbits... Here are does available that I've been offered (far away, wouldn't want to...

    Open vrs Closed Rabbitry

Thank you everyone for your replies so far! It has really helped me to nail down how I want to run my rabbitry in this regard. Though I'm small (110lbs, 5'5") I'm not worried about my personal safety as pretty much my whole family is always home and my rabbitry will be located down the side of...

New bunny suddenly not doing too good..

I didn't sign any contract though she said if I had the rabbit autopsied and found it was a disease, she'd give me the money back (but not pay for the process or anything). Weighing up the costs, I didn't think it would be worth it.

Why did you choose the name you did, for your rabbitry?

I still haven't decided yet either, will probably wait until I have a few (or any) rabbits first :D

    Open vrs Closed Rabbitry

Not sure if this is the place to put this..but here goes anyway I'll be building out the structures that will make up my rabbitry over the next couple of weeks (if good weather). I'll be putting time into this to make sure everything looks and functions nicely to the point where I won't mind if...

New bunny suddenly not doing too good..

Okay, I've put a hot water bottle near her and made her a little blanket of an old t-shirt. I made up sugar/salt water and fed some to her with an eye dropper. I think she swallowed a little bit...I'll repeat often until she's back to normal. Cleaned the cage and just waiting for it to dry...

New bunny suddenly not doing too good..

Sounds reasonable, not cold. I'll make her some of the electrolyte water, thanks for that link. Update: I just cleaned out her cage in case there was something there...and noticed orange pee :?

New bunny suddenly not doing too good..

The breeder told me she could eat greens, just no carrots or apples yet.. I called up a vet that does rabbits and asked them about pricing...they even said on the phone that depending on what it was, I'd probably need to buy medication for her and it isn't cheap..I'm still umming and arring...

New bunny suddenly not doing too good..

I looked through the wry neck symptoms and I'm really not sure...She seems to be having trouble holding her head up... I'll definitely do that Nothing other than grass and a couple of dandelions... I just got water and tried to get her to drink it, but that didn't get very far (I ended up...

New bunny suddenly not doing too good..

Thanks for the reply.. She's been kept in her cage that has timothy hay, her feed (pellets the breeder gave me), has been drinking water. Picked her up earlier and she had a piece of hay in her mouth so I'm guessing she's eating? She wouldn't have eaten anything while running around (needs to...

New bunny suddenly not doing too good..

Bought an eight week netherland dwarf doe on Saturday and has been doing really good (I thought) but this morning her droppings seem to be stuck together and in clumps and suddenly right now she can't walk and is really wobbly. Any help as to what this is/what I can do for her would be much...
