He has a solid area to hop onto, and Bug4H put a new thing in yesterday - a bin with some paper bedding - because he likes to dig in it.

We have seen George eat the fallen leaves when he's out in the backyard. No harmful effects from it - and he's doing it willingly, since there is lots of other stuff out there for him (grass, marigold, maple leaves, etc)

We've had the cage two weeks now - and while he's had a bit of litter box misses, it's not too bad - we had to move the litter pan out from under the hop-up level. I don't think he could sit the way he wanted to to pee. He's still out a fair amount each day - and he's such a snuggly, sweet...

My Dad gave Bug4H a bunch of his farm-grown hay for George. There is this big bin, and a huge grain bag both stuffed full of beautiful green hay !

Through her 4H group, Bug got to show some boer-cross doelings at a local fair twice this summer. The second show, her Jr. Doe took 1st place, and her Sr. Doe took 2nd place - putting both in line for Grand Champion ! In the end - the Sr. Doe took Reserve.

George is already litter trained for the most part - he uses his litter box (with pine pellets ;) ) for all his pee when in his cage, and a LOT of his poop too ! Out of the cage, it's not 100% use yet, but it's getting better all the time. We don't want to lose that - and it really is much...

Between the end of summer and weather cooling off forcing people back indoors more, and the back-to-school time creating petri-dish worthy germ fests, it is that time of year! I'm hoping that this year we won't get his with the worst of it - all three kids are being homeschooled this time :D
