    ARGHHH Steel - Steel Otter?

Thanks akane, I get how stee works now. So, I think my blue is actually aa EsE (he did produce three that are absolutely non-steels). Just for the reference, what would a steel otter look like (a(t)a Ese in case of some of these kits)? Fam told me not all 5 of the surprise colour look the...

    ARGHHH Steel - Steel Otter?

Hey, thanks for help SableSteel and akane. Thanks for the article, I'll be checking it. I see, and I assume my blue buck is aa EE since he comes from an exclusive line that never produced anything besides blues (I trust his breeder on that one). That been said, I also know most of Chinchillas...

    ARGHHH Steel - Steel Otter?

Hello all. In february I got myself a beautiful Vienna Blue buck to try to breed some diluted fawns. Knowing how breeding usually works where I am from (linebreeding is fairly common and keeping the "one line-one colour" in mind, especially with breeds that come in only one variation are rather...

    Is he orange or red?

I am not familiar with any specific rex terminology, but genetically would call this a orange fawn rabbit. Red is usually shown in rabbits with presence of wideband genes and high rufus factor, both of which fawns, oranges and creams USUALLY lack. That said, I have seen fawns with high rufus...

    Venna Blue x Lop Cross

Thanks SableSteel Prehaps I wasn't completely clear. I understand the situation with fawns and creams. It was just my initial idea. But the thing is, I never came across a lilac in my country. So i decided to try breeding it, also some blues and chocolates, most of them come only in purebred...

    Venna Blue x Lop Cross

Hello all. It's been ages since I last was around. I'll be soon finishing my college so more rabbit time for me. :D For quite a long time I have been thinking about breeding some other color into my black-based non-extension rabbits. Would love to see some blue, brown or lilac based fawns and...

    Paralysed month old

Thanks for quick reply, Maggie. Turns out it wasn't paralysis. The kit started tossing around tonly to stop after about 15 secs, then it stopped, took few more breaths and went over the bridge. Kind of glad that this didn't got ugly (hate culling). Thanks again anyway.

    Paralysed month old

Good day all. Feeding my buns this evening and found what I think is paralysed kit. No movement in limbs, tryed pinching it, only responds to pincing of head, neck or ears. However, besides a slight twitch, no head movement either. Breaths normally and blinks as well. Was all fine when checked...

    Nest building early in pregnancy

Hello everybunny, One of my colony does, Nina, is probably the worst breeder we ever had. It takes her ages to accept the buck, never saw her lifting to a buck and when the mating actually happeneds, she goes crazy and runs around. On top of all that, about 1 month ago, halfway through her...

    Steel or ?

Whoa, thanks Dood. I wasn't aware of cchl in our rabbitry. Awsome. I do not plan on keeping this baby as this litters were planned to be meat rabbits. However, I might offer it for sale as the kit is getting quite tame. Anyways, thanks again.

    Steel or ?

Hello everybunny, So, about 6-7 weeks ago, we had a little party in our rabbitry (read here: post270883.html#p270883). Basically, I both litters to be meaties, but there is this one baby that looks quite special. However, I can't figure out it's colour, it looked Blue the first few days, I...

    Breeding nursing doe?

Thanks for help guys. I tried breeding both and both didn't lift. I don't put pressure in breeding my buns, so I'll give them a few days to rest and will try again.

    Breeding nursing doe?

Hello everybunny, here's the deal. About a month and a half ago Rubin, my buck, got into the colony and spent sometime with Nina and Fawn. They were without babies, but I was planning on giving Fawn one more month to rest and then breed them together. But, as you see, they most likely bred and...

    Mystery Pointed White

Thanks Dood. I never imagined Agouti playing such a major role in colours all in all. I mean, of course it's one of main genes, but still. So even when you have a phenotype that masks the acctual colour, you can tell if bun is Agouti or not.
