    Brown-Eyed White

In cold weather you may see some color on the tail, nose or ears. Ermines sometimes have very light gray eyes and people mistake them for blue eyed whites. They are no where close to the crystal blue of the BEW.

    Harlequin Angoras

They are Beautiful to look at but are not a showable color. I also heard that they spin up muddy. That may be the reason they are not very popular. Nancy www.freewebs.com/grinlowfarm

    Another color question

He can throw pointed whites. I would breed him to a solid doe. If you are in love with the opal just realize some of the offspring could be pointed agouti. There could be alot of other colors. When I pair my agouti buck and pointed doe in Evans Software I get 12% unrecognized color which is...

    Another color question

when you talk about lilac point do you mean a Lilac pearl or a lilac pointed white?. I have pointed whites and I do not breed agouti patterns to the pointeds. The agouti will show up in the points which is a DQ on the show table.

    "half lop" English Angora ears

When you're showing bunnies they look for balance. That means the ears should be below the peak of the body. Hot weather will cause the ears to grow too long. If the rabbits ears lop and do not respond to a couple of weeks of support then I would not use them in my breeding program. I also...

    Naming your rabbitry/farm

Blue, I register all my breeding rabbits and this one and only rabbit registrar questioned me on the rabbitry name on the pedigree. I would not be concerned about them not registering your rabbits. Each registrar is different. some will really spend time checking the rabbit and making sure there...

    Naming your rabbitry/farm

There is a small, one time fee to register you rabbitry name with ARBA. They send you a certificate. Mine is Grinlow Farm Rabbitry. When I name my rabbits I use Grinlow in front of the name ie Grinlow's Dancing Lady. A couple of years ago I was registering one of my rabbits and the registrar...

First rabbit show next January - what to do?

At one of your next club meetings ask if someone can come and tatoo rabbits for you. I use a tatoo pen. They will weigh a if the judge thinks the rabbit feels too light or too heavy. I do not keep scales for the rabbits. If I have a question about weight I just use my personal scale. I try not...

First rabbit show next January - what to do?

I show english angoras and you want to have your bunnies in their best possible coat for the show. Some of my bunnies will hold their coat for 12 months or longer. Last week I evenly clipped several bunnies for spring showing in March. That means they have 6 months to get read for spring...

    Ear lopping over?

I never wait for it to correct itself. If you wait too long the ears may never stay erect. I raise english angoras and when they are young the furnishings are so heavy on the ears and in combination with hot weather it occassionally makes the ears drop. A judge told me to tack them up for a few...
