Need help ASAP

Oh, how sad! I am so sorry this happened to you :(

I can't decide which one to keep.....

It is wheat grass, they all love it! I buy the hard red wheat berries at the store and just grow it in organic peat moss in dishpans I get at the dollar store. Each hutch has three on top of it so that there is always one dishpan ready to go (takes about a week) and then I put in the cage for...

I can't decide which one to keep.....

I am smitten with both of my junior cali bucks, but I only need one to grow out to eventually replace his papa. They are both sweet and outgoing unlike my snooty junior does. How does one decide a favorite between these little cuties? I am going to try posing them for some good pictures this...

Sister lost her 21yo son Friday

Shannon, I am so sorry to hear this. It is even more heartwrenching when it is a young person. My thoughts are with you and your family.

    Well... snot!

Sorry to hear about poor Cupcake and Leia :( Hopefully the losses stop here, and the rest of your herd proves to be hardy and resistent stock. You caught things pretty early and learned an important lesson in rabbit husbandry, and sometimes those lessons are learned the hard way.....trust me...

    Older does

I have a Cali doe that is between 2-3 and she produced two litters of 7 & 8 kits in the past year (she missed one breeding), so production was down a bit or it could have been the buck....but she is still a good mom and I am hanging onto her while my juniors grow out. I would not keep a barn...

Doe with bald/red spots near genitals and possible UTI?

Thanks hoodat! I think I have some lamisil in the medicine cabinet. I also have Blu-Kote in the horse medicine kit and I know that helps with fungus....anyone want to weigh in?

Doe with bald/red spots near genitals and possible UTI?

Yup, after taking her off a pretty strong round of wormers her symptoms returned. If it was anyone else I would have told them, "You tried to treat it, but to keep a rabbit prone to sickness and who needs an abundance of meds is a liability and does not help breed better/stronger babies, I would...

Thanks, after having to put down my other senior Cali doe last week (wry neck) this is a real blow :(

Doe with bald/red spots near genitals and possible UTI?

Hello everyone, I have an approx 2-3 year old Cal doe who seems to have an infection. I was giving everyone a grooming and when I flipped her over I noticed her back end seems moist. She does not sit in her urine that I know of and has a wire floor except for a resting board. I looked and was...

Well I have gone and done it now.......

Update: The little renegade found a home with a nice family two houses down from me. He will get plenty of love and I can keep tabs on how he does. Happy ending :)

__________ Tue Apr 12, 2011 5:11 pm __________

Update: The little renegade found a home with a nice family two...

Well I have gone and done it now.......

The "You Know You Don't Want to Do This" talk please......I am at capacity right now. I have calls out to two families whom I trust to take it in as a pet and take care of it. There is also a rabbit rescue a few towns over, but they are not open today.

__________ Sun Apr 10, 2011 9:21...

Well I have gone and done it now.......

I have become the "Crazy Rabbit Lady", and you know how I know this? Easy, I woke up and found that someone had dumped an unwanted rabbit in my yard. Maybe thinking, "Hmmmm, she has lots of rabbits, what's one more?" or "Hey look, maybe she won't notice another one....." Grrrrrrrrr! Not cool...

    wry neck question

** update** The doe is doing much better, the head tilt is about 85% gone. She is perky, eating and drinking normally. I have had her inside where I can keep an eye on her and will probably put her back outside this weekend. The morning after I noticed the head tilt I gave her a pea size dose...
