I will say, what I pulled up looked awful compared to what you have pics of...

Did you keep cutting it--not letting it flower and go to seed?

I never saw any flowers, but maybe it was gearing up for that. I kept it cut back quite a bit, but at one point it was kale lace because of the bugs - I didn't think to keep pulling the stems at that point, I just assumed it was done. Definitely learned quite a bit about both the hardiness and longevity of kale...
