I really wish you were closer Zass I would be at your doorstep begging for a few of your young meat mutts lol.

:D :D :D

It took me a few years to get everything in place to make them without compromising too much. (Hormonalness is killing me right now, the SF introduced that.)
I'm still a long way off of the final goal of seeing what that color will look like on standup coat, and I sure could use some other breeders working on the project.

Here's our latest litter- a bit of a relief after a whole three months without any popples or kits.
The dam is a Smoke Pearl Marten doe, Willow; who's sire was a Black Otter, with her dam being a Smoke Pearl.
The sire is a Self Black, his sire being a Black Otter and his Dam (who happens to beWillow) is Smoke Pearl Marten.
And quoting one of my previous posts from a while back, "The bucks (Self Blacks sire) lines as far as we know: Ferns Sire was a self black, Ferns dam was a 'orange chinchilla' (That's what the breeder called her, but she looked more like a 'faded' chestnut to me?), His 'grand sire' was self black, and his 'grand dam' was sable marten."

Ok, that's real confusing actually, re-reading that  But hopefully someone will be able to understand my muddled writing, and maybe know the colours of this no doubt colourful lot?:

Pretty babies, EnglishSpot! And I like the waterer that you're using. I think I'm going to have to run out and get some of those instead of the lick bottles. My litter is one day younger than yours and, even though I've now put two water bottles in the cage, they're all waiting their turns to get a drink.

That's a chick waterer I picked up from the feed store! It holds a gallon of water and the kits have been all over it! They're accustomed to the Lixit bottle too but I figured I'd do okay with mass watering this way. It's easy enough to clean too.

Here is the crew!! MR x NZx. They are very very soft and furry!!

Mitka's Litter
Mitka is my little 6lb proven doe she was perfect with her first litter and so far hasn't lost a kit (fingers crossed). She is black although I won't swear that she isn't a hidden steel. She does have chin babies so I know she's not a super steel. Out of the first two litters I have gotten only Chins, silver tipped steels, "black", and REW from this pairing so I believe she is cchd c. This litter is 4 REW and the rest are (probably) Silver tipped steel, Chinchilla, or solid black (either steel or self).

White's Litter (REW) First timer
This is the doe who made a nest on the wire and then didn't feed them at first. I had to hold her over the nestbox but then thankfully she got the idea after only one time. She had seven but one crawled out of the nest before I found them and I wasn't able to save it. She now has 2 broken, 3 REW, and 1 solid. The solids and broken will be either Chin or Silver tipped steel.

Snow's Litter
I found another kit in the box today so that brings her total birthed to 11. Not to bad for a first time mom. I hope she keeps it up without losing any next time. 2 in this litter were DOA and 2 were dead the next morning. I believe she stepped on them as there was some blood. The others when I checked this afternoon all seemed to be well fed and active. The ones that lived are 3 broken, 3 REW/Himi, and 1 solid. I'm looking forward to seeing if any are himi.

Out of the brokens in both litters, this is the one with the most color lol. Sorry the image is fuzzy.
