4 month old is worrying me! (kind of panicking)

I have one rabbit in the house, ( my first baby). He is 4 months old now and while his energy is normal I am noticing racing heart beat, panting and running nose, and lots of cecals. We upped his hay, and started putting less in his bowl pellets wise. He has been panting for a few days, and...

    Doe killing young kits

A friend of mine had an accident litter and seperated mom and dad ( siblings that she thought were too young to breed) as soon as she found the babies. However, 35 days later she now has a second litter. My friend found one dead and mangled kit this morning, and just saw mom attack another one...

CAn a doe miscarry and still give birth?

I was given a doe, she has been in close quarters with a buck and the found out how to turn their double hutch into a single. She was due the 15th, is it possible that her body expelled only some of the babies? Like, the whole horned uterus thing, could her body reject the younger ones for...

sneezing mom and 3wker w possible wry neck

There are seven other kits and I don't know what to do at this point. The one who probably has wry neck has nest box eye, very skinny and tips over when tries to walk. Mom sneezes but there are no liquids (eyes or noise) so I thought it must be hay dust allergies. I have 9 other...

A 3wk old kit needs to be culled i think

nestbox eye, skin and bones, and now can't walk, keeps flipping over. I found it outside the nest box a few days ago, the eyes are not clearing up. What do you guys think?

    a churning ocean of kits!

So with eight in our nest box, we stick our hand in to do a welfare check and they start going nuts. They're growing, momma is going in and out of the nest, but my first litter was a singleton who was overeating lol. These guys act like they're starving and feel (and look) like a churning...

My first mini rex litter (and first multiple living litter!)

I had a holland lop kindle before and only one survived ( one stillborn and one peanut in the litter as well) My mini rex just had eight babies, sticking my hand in the nest box to head count today, they were crazy active, desperately trying to nurse off my hand and wrinkly bellies. I am...

    First time doe/buck, didn't take....

I tried to breed my mini rexes who were 6 months to the day, the day we bred them. Yesterday was popple day, but I really don't think she is pregnant at all. She is showing no behaviors at all, etc. When can I put her back in with him?

6 wk old routinely having poop stuck

Snickers is a holland lop, he is 6 wks old tomorrow, and he been weaned since 4 wks and removed from his mother for his own safety. Twice now, that he has been caged seperately, I have had to soak his bum to get poop off. He poops normally, Ive never seen him have the runs, his genitals are...

Poop matted to butt in a 4 wk old, and mom is mounting him

Okay, so Snickers was flipped over today and I noticed a BIG mat of poop, but a quick glance told me that it was purely fur, the genitals did not look red and angry at all. There were pellets stuck to the matted poop, so I wonder if a poop was a bit soft, he sat in it, it got stuck and the fully...

So my lone kit and his momma cuddle (picture added)

Every now and again I look in on them and he is cuddled up next to her. She is my nastiest rabbit but she seems to be tolerating Snickers well enough. He is 21 days old Don't mind the litterbox, it is cage cleaning day but this doe is evil and I need my husband to help me! lol

Something I have noticed about peoples' setup

I have seen many people who keep their buck cages separate, sometimes in a totally different area. Is there any reason for this other than avoiding accidental breeding?

Anyone working on mini rex X holland lops?

I know velveteen lops are English Lops and rexes, but is there a small version? Would it be bad for my does ( like with dogs they often aren't considered purebred once they breed with a different.......breed. lol)

The youngest you can wean a kit?

I have a very nasty mother who we are planning culling, we can't feed her without being bitten. Now that her only kit, who is 16 days old is up and walking it is getting harder and harder to handle him. Before we could distract her with food, and pull the nest box out. Now often he is cuddled...

two does and two totally different breeding reactions, help?

We put one doe in with my buck and she wiggled her tail and looked like she was lift, but the poor boy couldn't get the girl to stop moving, towards the end she was jumping over him to get away from him. Then we swapped her out for a different doe and she stayed still but wouldn't lift, my poor...

    Ack! It happened again!

There was a free bunny sign at the vet when I was bringing my turtle in. black dutch male free to good home. She thinks he is not fixed and that he is about 2 yrs old. That he is a house rabbit and loves cuddling. My daughter has wanted a dutch since we started looking into rabbits/ 4H. So...

my lone survivor (picture heavy lol)

So last night we came out to find the lone kit out of the nest box, just outside the lip of it. I dug out some of the insides so that there was more height/climbing required to get out. Today within the past two hours or so, he is on the other side of the cage. He is 12 days old today so we...
