    I am so super happy, after a few years away from raising buns I am finally able to get back to it :) Meet Oreo my new herd buck and Coco my first doe. I have always wanted to do Magpie Harlequins and I finally have a chance at it. I am going this evening to pick up two blue Magpie babies :)

    So in an effort to increase the meat production on my magpie Harlequins I am considering breeding my blue magpie doe to a REW New Zealand. Am I correct in my assumption that the kits should come out chin and magpie ? I am not very good with colour gentics

    and Momma is a chestnut Flemish.Cali mix - Daddy is a harlequin Meat Mutt. Does anyone know what the bottom kit in the second picture would be called , it has a chocolate cast to it but not real sure what to call the colour.

    I agree they really are a stunning looking rabbit - my boy Wade - his goal is to have a throw for his bed made from all magpie furs :) It will be the second throw he has made, not bad for an 11 yr old :)

    GypsyTinker the Ermine is the one that appears to be white in the photo. However, if you look close the ears and the nose have slight shading on them. When the sun comes up a bit more I will take pictures of that kit and of it beside the white ones. It is hard to capture how it looks in real...

    Thank you Skysthelimit - we did not realize it was gonna be so difficult to produce magpie LOL We just assumed by putting the harlequin with the chin we would have a whole litter of magpies :) This genetics is quite complicated !!

    ahhhh ok - will give them another shot together. But if I take brother and sister from this litter , say the harlequin and the ermine and breed them will that result in Magpie's? My son was heartbroken that there were no magpies up in this litter. He wants a magpie blanket :)

    Dood, I also have his brother who is the same colour as he is however I don't know the colour of his parents. I plan on breeding him to my cali doe and to my chestnut Flemish mix.
