Trade wire or cage rows for rabbits in SE WI area

If anyone is interested, I have several cage rows - 10' long (will get other measurements tomorrow) and I have a couple rolls of cage wire (bought several years ago from Klubertanz and stored inside) that I am looking to trade for meat-type rabbits. I also have two rabbit carriers that can hold...

What types of hay are the best?

Forgot to add - I do not plan on feeding pellets. Just hay, grain (I can get oats and wheat), BOSS and whatever stuff I can gather from our property (3 acres). :)

What types of hay are the best?

I am doing my research for my rabbit feeding and am starting to look for hay suppliers. I can get all sorts of hay - I'm just not sure which is best! I plan to raise meat rabbits, if that makes a difference. I'm not worried about fast grow out - prefer them to be raised natural. I can get...

FODDER: A beginning. It's comin' along. Final shots.

Have you tried a bucket trap? If you set the trap with peanut butter the mice should ignore your fodder in favor of the PB! Edited to add: forgot the link: http://fivegallonideas.com/bucket-mouse-trap/

how much to charge per pound

Check to see how much the raw diet providers in your area charge. Hare Today (a US company) charges $23 for a skinned, gutted rabbit cut in half (estimate it being 4 lbs). So that's around $5.75 per pound (plus shipping costs).

    Calculating square footage question

When one is calculating the square footage available for rabbits, can you include any RAISED areas? I'm thinking that I could add quite a bit of room to my potential colony square footage if I added some shelves/platforms to the design. For example, if I put a 2' wide shelf, that was about 2'...

Trying to estimate feeding costs for herd share estimates

So I was turned onto the idea of herd sharing and I think it's going to work out quite well for me! I just need to work up the costs and pricing. Can everyone tell me the amounts of grains and hay you use for your rabbits? I don't need a 'per rabbit' breakdown - just how many rabbits you are...
