Can rabbits eat Tifton 9 hay?

:bunnyhop: TIFTON 9 HAY QUESTION :) Hi everyone! Quick question. I have been buying hay from Walmart but it gets pricey after a while (a small bag is $7. However, I found a local farmer that sells Tifton9 hay that is supposed to be for cows. I can get a 4x5 bale for $25. Any idea if this is...

Florida Whites VS Cali - NZ

Hi, I just finished processing my first litter at 16 weeks with the heaviest 2 bunnies (live weight) of 5.12 lb at about 12-13 weeks and about 3.8-4.7 for the rest of them (about 16) around weeks 14-16. Based on what I have seen and read, it feels to me my results are not good and these little...

    Hot Weather

I know this is an old thread, but in case someone is interested, I just set up a misting system for my bunnies. I live in Alabama where temperatures are in the mid 90s now, real feel over 111 yesterday. Some links here: Initially I put the water in the middle of the hutch, going inside out...

Has anyone experienced this fodder problem?

I am growing it outside. I should try inside as you say. My house is really small, but I will try to find a spot to do it there. Thanks for your help! :)

Has anyone experienced this fodder problem?

Thanks for the information. Do you have high temperatures over there? Because my seeds are not growing now that we are everyday in the 90s and I want to find some sort of replacement. Thanks!

Has anyone experienced this fodder problem?

Hi, I have been growing barley fodder for the last month and it's been awesome. However, now that the temperatures here are reaching the 90s, barley seems to be growing very slowly and half of the seeds are not even sprouting. Is there any seed that I could use instead of barley that could be...

    Changing cages after kindling

Oh thank you very much! That is totally new to me! I have read a lot but nothing like what you said. My main fear was the mother refusing to feed them if I changed their current spot, but it's great to know in most cases it can be done without much of a problem. Thank you! :)

    Changing cages after kindling

Hi Rabbit friends: I am a total newbie here. I just had my first two litters of NZ whites. I have a buck, a Cali, and two NZ whites in 30x24x18 cages. This is their first breeding for the 3 of them. I was expecting about 5-6 bunnies for each doe, but one got 10 and the other one 12. I don't know...

    Rabbit cooling idea and questions

oh, yes, I made one of those "air conditioners" about a year ago, but not for rabbits. I wonder how good they would be with the idea you have in mind. I am sure you would need a powerful fan if you want the air to reach 6 cages for instance. Have you set it up already?

    Misting System and Kits

Do you have any problem with mosquitoes if you wet the ground around the bunnies? Do you use the misting systems when the temperature is too high? Or you try to avoid them altogether?

    Misting System and Kits

Thanks Miss M. I have been growing fodder, barley specifically. So at the hottest times (between 12-6PM) I remove the pellets and just leave them the fodder and the hay. I have been putting some little roofs or cover on the cage. So most of the day they have access to pellets but not during...
