Those lil rascals are pretty cute, this might be a dumb question but how soon will you be able to tell if they have rex fur or regular fur

They are beautiful!

I have never seen a lilac... how did you determine those are lilac as opposed to blue?

Because both parents are chocolate...you cannot get blue from two chocolate parents...or so I have read.

__________ Mon Mar 26, 2012 1:57 pm __________

They will have normal fur, since mom does not carry Rex and you need both parents to be or carry Rex to get Rex fur.

Oh. They are lighter than my blues too. Hurry up and bring me my bunnies, will you please? :p

does it work that way with Satins too?
cuz I was hoping to get some Satin furred kits out of out Satin buck and NZW doe

I think I recall from the discussion on breeding Rex to Satin Angoras that Satin fur is also a recessive gene.

They are so shiny and colorful. I sure could use that white/cal one. Why does everyone have to live so far away?

They are adorable, Shannon! Loving the color. I'm curious how they compare to your full cal kits size wise, and how they are growing.

One thing I noticed is that the three white ones were larger than the 6 colored ones at birth...

color inheritance and size. interesting. my REW and black rexes are always the largest and best in my herd. i was starting to think it was more than a coincidence.
