Well I had a liter born April 4th and they aren't old enough to show at Lop Extravaganza, but they will be old enough to show in October. The show is October 6th. At that point they would be just barely Seniors by I guess two days. Would it make sense to still show them as a jr. or do I have to show them as a Senior (which I believe is everything 6 months and up) . That stinks that they would not have a junior showing career :hmm:

Technically, they would be seniors at that point (albeit by the slim margin of 2 days), and any GC legs you might receive by entering the rabbit as a junior would not be recognized by the ARBA. It will be weeded out and eliminated by the staff the moment they recognize the birthdates on their registration documentation.

And FWIW2U, senior legs carry more "weight" when you get right down to it. Only one of their GC legs may be from being shown as a junior. All 3 of their legs can be from competition as a senior.

Thank you Satins. Do you think that showing them at the 6 month mark might be risky? Wonder if he would compete well with other older Seniors that have had the time to grow and mature.

just make sure the weight minimum has been reached....and exercise the rabbir for muscle conditioning...

Or in the case of a smaller breed rabbit, make sure the maximum weight has not been exceeded.

__________ Wed May 16, 2012 6:04 am __________

Peach, I would imagine that he's going to peak somewhere between 6 months and a year of age. I know my rabbits always seem to do so.
