Out of curiousity, would a rabbit who has had allergies still get some slight matting on the inside of their paws?

I have one who randomly decided to start sneezing routinely as of a few days ago. Hasn't left the barn, isn't next to anyone who has left the barn. We get round bales from for our horses, that can be dusty. There's pellet dust around her nose, hence some brown dust on the inside of her paws from wiping it away.

There's no snot. Nothing white. No runny eyes. I've shined lights up her nose and don't see anything questionable (though my brain might start to imagine something soon because I've been overthinking it!).

I'm thinking it's either allergies or dust related from the hay/feed.

Does this sound like allergies? The sneezing is frequently enough though that it's making wonder what would cause a sudden onset of it?

The doe in question has been quarantined. Just wondering about other's experiences!
And if someone does have a clear photo of snuffles/pasteurella that resulted in wet paws, I'd love to see a photo. Google only produces the same one or two extremes...

In my experience it is the mucus and not the water in the discharge that does the matting. The more matting, the more mucus. The more mucus the higher chance it is snuffles. :(

Yes, this is why when buying a rabbit you always check the paws. You may never see the nose running or snot around it because they are so fussy about their faces they wipe very fast.

if you have matting, you have mucous.

I'd cull first and ask questions second.. unless you want to do a nasal swab and get confirmation.
