Wideband is most noticeable when combined with non extension as both cause the middle band to be wider.

There is not much effect in chinchillas but it will greatly whiten frosty so they have almost no black tips

In harlequins and tri the agouti marks (lighter fur around eyes and ears ) are replaced with orange colouring instead

From what I have seen and understand, wideband creates a white belly in Chinchillas and Chestnuts (and Opals, etc.). I know it is acceptable in my angora breeds, but I prefer to see that nice slate color on their bellies.

I found, in a couple of articles, that wideband in chinchilla will cause the belly to be all white without the slate undercolor. Is that correct in your opinion?
I don't have wideband in my herd and no first hand experience but turning the middle band from slate to
white makes sense

Thanks for the replies. I don't think I have wideband in my herd but was just curious how it would present. I tried finding pictures on rabbitcolors.info but they only have a couple of examples and It didn't really give me a good idea of what it would look like.
