So this is the "rex" doe I was given yesterday. Obviously she's not a full rex but I'm wondering what you think she might be. She's approx 1 year old, and weighs just a touch over 8 lbs.

At a year old, that would be small for a Rex, NZ or a Satin. Satins tend to have a more rounded body type. There is really no way to guess, a lot of the commercial breeds look similar and are distinguishable mostly by fur. Are there any breeds that are prevalent in your area you can use a a way to narrow it down?

Yeah, she's likely a mutt of all types of things. Ironically I saw an ad on Craigslist this morning for someone selling rex/Dutch and all of their buns look very similar. I'm skeptical of what breeds people claim to have on CL though.

She's just going into the meat herd, so it's not a huge deal anyway. I was just curious about other people's opinions.

Something about her reminds me of a Belgian hare. XD

She is fawn (A_B_C_D_ee) so her colour gives a clue as very few meat breeds carry non-extension.

She also has more of a mandolin shape or very weak shoulders

I vote for Palomino or fawn Flemmish in her history.

I've seen Flemish crossed with all sorts of smaller breeds, that might get you something that looks like this. she might be half rex still too, I've seen rex crosses with wonderfully plush, but strait normal looking fur. She's a cutie
