Forgive my cluelessness.

My does babies just turned two weeks old today, everyones eyes are open and they're pretty active when I have them out, poking their cuteness, but they haven't tried leaving the nest on their own when I put them back yet.

Everything I've read said that babies will start eating their mothers food at 2 weeks, so should I wait another half a week or so or should I give them some pellets the next time I'm messing with them and see what they do.

Or is it one of those things where they have to watch their mom doing it to get the idea?

Just don't wanna mess em up and make them implode or something lol.

I tip the box between 10 days and 2 weeks.
I start giving them pellets from day 10. I just drop them in the box.

They should find Mama's food very soon. Everything she eats, they will try. I like to keep hay in the nest for mine to nibble and sometimes I'll put a small handful of pellets in the nest during the day, too. Soon, they'll be competing with Mama for the food dishes.

They'll be tasting any hay or anything in the nest before they even open their eyes. You can put food in the front of the box if you don't use hay and they aren't interested in coming out at the usual time. Every now and then I get a litter that's just happy in the box for an extra week. Most of mine are popping out as soon as their eyes open at 10 days.
