My largest litter was 16 from the only doe left from my meat line and she gave me 11 in her next litter. All my does are pretty fertile though, my average litter is 9-11

I haven't been breeding too long, but I had a first time mom Silver Fox have a litter of 9. She even had enough milk for all! Only one baby who I currently own didn't get enough milk because of sibling dominance, and so I flipped momma over and Little Bit would get her share. To this day Little Bit is on the small side, hence her name.

My very first litter was 14 .... Only two survived due to owner error. I gave the doe a nest box that was too large & she thought it was a sofa .... suffocated them lounging in the nest box. Lesson learned. She produced litters of 10 & 12 after and weaned them all.

Recently had a litter of 13 all DOA to a first timer , she had them a week premature & on the wire. She was culled shortly after.

Have had a couple litters of 12 with all surviving.

Why did you cull her??? It was her first time!

Mine has had one so far...it died or was dead and mom was eating it (1st time) no idea if there is more..possibly 2 weeks early unless she was bred earlier then the lady though.

Not everyone allows a doe to fail on her first try. So far, I have zero history of first time mothers failing completely, and I'm not sure I'd continue breeding a doe who did.

Everyone has different tolerance levels for nonsense from their does, with people who raise meat rabbits generally a lot less tolerant than those who raise pet types.

BUT...all that aside, I suspect Ramjet very likely had more reasons for removing that particular animal from their breeding program than just the litter failure.
