What size nest box

I have Cal and NZ what size nest box would or do you use? mine are 22 ni long 11 1/4in wide 11 1/2in high these just seem a little big to me.

Mine are 18"x10"10" for my NZ does.

I try to build my nestboxes,
two inches longer and two inches wider than the Dam it will be used for.
A nestbox that is too large will often become a Rabbit potty.
Too small and it sometimes won't be used.

I raise NZ. Our nest boxes are 11 1/2 x 11 1/2 by 18 long.

I differ from most in that I like a covered nest box made of wood attached at the side of the cage. Good mama does will keep them scrupulously clean and never void in them, although she may urinate once or twice in a new one to get her smell in there but usually never again. I like my boxes big enough so the doe can move around in there without accidentally stepping on a kit. If you get a messy doe there should be some way to close the doorway between broods.
