If you would have a weight scheduale for Swedish Pelts I'd be surprised  but I'd be happy.

Instead I ask - what does your rabbits weigh at 2 weeks? And what adult weight do they have?

Swedish Pelts are 3.5-4kg (about 7 - 9 lb). I havn't weighed mine since my scale stops at 3kg..

I weighed the kits today and I got:

4 that was 171-185 g (6 - 6.5 oz)
3 that was 150-165g (5.2 - 5.8 oz)
3 between 125-130g (4.4 - 4.6 oz)

5 of the kits were born the 19th and 5 the 20th I suppose that explains some of the differenses, 5 of them being 15 days old instead of 14 :)

Hmm, I never weigh anyone till they reach 8 weeks. When I bring the kits in tonight I will weigh them. Rex are 7-10lbs at adult weight.

The smallest rabbit we have had yet was 250g at 14 days, meat mutt. Largest is right at 350g at 14 days pure NZW.

Thanks :)
I went to check the SP supposed weight and had missed a bit - it's 3.1 to 3.7kg. So 6.8 to 8.1 lb

I tried to weigh the does and buck as well.. but with far less accuracy. I only had an old hay-scale.. the kind that has a spring in it and you hang the things you want to weigh in a hook. This one only had a small dot marking a kilo but I'm guessing that:

Kyndel is at the top end of the SP weight recommendations at 3.8kg (8.4 lb)
Kummin was about 3.5kg (7.7lb)
Madra, the nzr, was 3kg (6.6lb) but she's still fairly young.

Koriander, the buck, was 3.4 or so.. quite small. (7.5lb)

When do you normally butcher? At what weight? (or do you go for age alone?)

In sweden, 3kg is concidered the ideal butcher weight. 6.6 lb. I'll see what mine weighs and how long it takes them to grow, but I think I'll watnt to have them almost 3 kg at least..

GypsyTinker: Thank you :) NZW is 9-12 lb at adult weigh, right?

Yes, 9-12 as adults.

I have not raised them for long, but my 2 adults are in the 9 pound range and very meaty.

Dorothy - 9.5 pounds

Hank - he might be almost 10 pounds.

Edit: Oh yeah, I butcher as close to 70 days as I can. When the moon is right :) They are usually around 5 pounds, some a little more.

Nice rabbits :)

5lb.. that's 2.3 kg... how much meat do you get from that? :) (and is that with or without bones?)

hehe, here's my three does :p Left to right: Kyndel, Kummin, Madra

Dress out weight is probably 50%. Maybe a little more. Rex grow so slowly, I don't get anything useful till around 16 weeks. The 14 week olds are 4.5lbs (2kg), if I butchered now maybe 2lb of meat.

Yeah, usually over 2 pounds with the bones.

Over a pound of meat. A good one is 2.5 pounds and 1.5 pounds of meat.

This is rough estimate, I've only de-boned a couple and haven't recorded data on de-boned weights.

I like the style of your colony. Your rabbits look very at home :)

A little late but here is the most recent weight for my 3 week olds they averaged out at 17.6oz. I did weigh at 2 weeks old but don't seem to remember how much they weighed then.
