To answer your original question, you could safely rebreed even if you were mistaken. In the wild, rabbits mate almost daily during pregnancy. It’s just an activity for them, something they just automatically do. Some say they could possibly end up with a “double pregnancy,“ so I researched and researched that. No, that possibility is slim to none, and anecdotal at best. Like you, on day 10 I often miss the little beans. Days 12 to 14 seem to be easier to feel them.

The doe won't lift for the buck when she's pregnant and will drive him away, Domestics are descended from the European wild rabbit, Oryctolagus cuniculus and while they may hump to show dominance, they don't mate every day. Anyone with a colony will confirm this.

I’ll have to revisit this point to be sure I have correctly understood what I had studied. Thank you for sharing your understanding.

actually.... does can lift even while pregnant. Lifting is not indicative of pregnancy, just a willingness to breed. (or the over powering determination of the buck)

There is a whole LOT of argument about whether rabbits can have a dual pregnancy and this summer one of the facebook groups had lots of pics of people sharing "my doe had this litter and then 2-3 weeks later had this other litter, now what?pics.

If you are confident in your palpating skills, I would rebreed her. If you have any question, is there a compelling reason why you cannot wait another 20ish days? Or perhaps wait until day 11 or 12 and palpate then?

I palpated her again and I can feel something but I can’t tell if it is fat or babies. It feels kind of long and skinny.

I put her with chess and she kept her butt down but she saw not grunting which confirms my suspension even more. She is not pregnant. I probably will put her with chess a few more times and if she doesn’t lift i will what for her due date and if there are still no babies then I will have to get a other doe.

She is a little over a year old. the weather is sunny and rainy. She is not skinny and I can feel the tip of her spine.

only you can determine when you will replace your breeding animals. Failure to breed can be one of them, but when you do so you need to consider what factors might influence a doe's willingness to breed. Are you exposing her regularly to the buck, or just on random days? Is the buck interested? What is the weather doing? How much light is she getting? Are you checking her vent before bringing her to the buck?
