What Color? Lilac?

This is a lionhead....

Cannot for the life of me figure this little one out. I took some nice photos just so I could really look at the colors....

Mom is a chocolate sable (we think otter on top of that) and dad is a black VM.

So... what color, is it a lilac?

Looks like sable, probably black AKA Siamese sable

hmmm... that's odd - the siamese sable lionheads we have seen as newborns were almost black.... (in fact, we have one that we haven't bred yet). Interesting.

The black sables are more likey seals

It this kit could be a very dark sable point - have they produced any torts?

This is our first litter, and to be honest, I was wondering if tort was possible. I have the history on the buck - his line has torts and even has a lilac.... so let's just confuse it some more

hmmm.. in person, this one is a lot lighter... here's another shot of the same..... At first, I was positive it was a sable.... now, not sure...

Definitely the sable gene and we just need to figure out the other 4 colour loci :cheesysmile:

Blue sables are even whiter than Siamese but it's too early to tell
