What color is he?

This was a sweet buck that we sold to another meat breeder. He came out of our satin line and was just so sweet and pretty. I'm just not sure what his color is called. Is he still a frosty?

It's self and non extension (aa B_ cchl_ D_ ee) instead of agouti and non extension (A_ B_ cchl_ D_ ee)

And then if I had one that looked like this and then developed uneven splotches of color on their back ... what is that called? Is that temp related or just bad coloring? Thanks so much for all your help!

Could be temperature related or shedding or the broken gene or even the harlequin gene - pictures needed :cheesysmile:

Looks like a martinized himi to me, common in some breeds. Even with the splotching, can be very temp sensitive and weird spots show up. There's the white lacing around the ears that gives tells me that and lacking of nose lacing/eye lacing says that not an agouti, but looks like has white feet/tail/no eye circles so would also be considered a broken...looks way too dark for a sable point to me and then the white ear lacing doesn't fit into that.

I thought the eyes were brown :shrug: if they are red/ruby/pink then himilayan is the only alternative

Yes, almost all my rabbits have brown eyes. We get some kits that have eyes that start out blue and then go gray. The majority have brown thought. My hubby doesn't like the red eyes (none of us do lol) so we have avoided that.
