A family friend of ours has some rabbits, and the person they got them from claims that they are purebred, however they did not receive the pedigrees. They are large breed rabbits. One is white with brown eyes and they other is broken black or chocolate (I forgot which). Any idea what the would be? She said she would try to get us some pictures soon.

Pictures are really needed to make an informed guess. A rabbits colour, unless it is a very unique one, is not very helpfull in determining the breed.

White with brown eyes sounds like a Charlie (nearly all white with two broken genes) so any colour is possible.

Chocolate is not an accepted colour in any large regular furred rabbit breeds so I doubt they are pure if that's what they are.

Nearly all breeds accept the colour black and some broken black so that doesn't narrow it down either.

You mean like Chocolate Satins? Granted, they are not "regular furred", but to the eye that doesn't know any better, it could easily be mistaken if it has a grainy, rough texture to its coat.
